A Message from Chaplain Nick Colton
Hello!
My name is Nick Colton. I’m the chaplain for the Forsyth Police Department, serving department personnel and members of the community. I assist with situations that create emotional, mental and spiritual burdens that adversely affect them, their families, and loved ones. I also serve as the Associate Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Forsyth.
It’s my goal as chaplain is to create a relationship with officers so that they will feel free to turn to me for counsel at any time. I ride along frequently with the officers on patrol, visit with them at the police station, and assist the department during special events whenever needed. I make myself available to listen to problems and concerns within the department and to share the grief, sorrows, and joys both individually and collectively with members of the police department.
The Forsyth Police Department is honored to have a chaplain corps to attend to the grief and difficulties experienced by our department members, victims of crimes, and those persons who are suffering from loss or catastrophe. If you have a question or comment for Chaplain Nick, please click HERE.
As a police chaplain I may be called to assist an officer in a variety of situations that include: Death Notifications and emergency messages, providing comfort to victims, families, and officers at locations where traumatic incidents have occurred, giving confidential counsel to police department personnel, providing moral/ethical advice to police personnel as requested, and offer referral and resource assistance as requested.
